Is Spring almost here? πŸŒΈβ€‹

Hello friends. Spring has officially sprung according to the calendar. Why do I still have snow in my yard? Anyways, let's jump into the March updates, shall we?

LinkedIn Updates – March 2024

For Companies:

πŸ‘‰ Expect to see an expansion of "Thought Leader Ads" where advertisers can sponsor content from any member. I think this will be interesting. This gives brands the ability to reach newer audiences. Log into Campaign Manager to set this up. Creators will have the power to approve or deny the request from the advertising company.

πŸ‘‰ You can export data from your page now.

πŸ‘‰ I am hearing that you can upload a photo manually to replace the auto-upload in a page post. I will be looking to test this.

For Creators:

πŸ‘‰ Look for additional AI suggestions about what to post on LinkedIn. Most of these new AI content suggestion features are for premium users. So far I am not that impressed because I prefer more personalization.

πŸ‘‰ Look for "suggested posts," as part of LinkedIn's algorithm updates. LinkedIn wants us to reach niche audiences with detailed and valuable content. We need to focus on value and insights with long-form and in-depth content.

πŸ‘‰ There will be new options for readers of your contributions to Collaborative Articles to leave a comment. A reader can now mark the content as "unhelpful," as described below.

Interesting for all:

πŸ‘‰ Now as you read contributions for Collaborative Articles, you will have a new option to mark it "unhelpful" which is the direct opposite of a like.

πŸ‘‰"Other Similar Profiles" is now displaying to the right of your profile and you can't do anything about it unfortunately..........EXCEPT have an exceptional profile yourself.

πŸ‘‰ LinkedIn is possibly expanding into gaming. Remember the company is owned by Microsoft so that is the connection. Read my post and poll about this idea.

πŸ‘‰ Look for changes with LinkedIn Groups. They are phasing in "Public Groups" This will open up the visibility of the content and allow for expanded engagement beyond group members. It only provides limited functionality for those outside the group, however.

πŸ‘‰ Group admins can recommend three valuable posts each week. Let's see what happens with this. I hope it's not abused as a feature.

πŸ‘‰ Email visibility options (Privacy and Settings) are expanding to now include "first and second-level connections." Consider checking your settings to make sure the right people can see YOUR email address.

March ☘️ Gratitude and Advice Corner:

πŸ‘‰ My big news is my newest book "Jumpstart Your LinkedIn Profile," is coming out this spring. Reply to this email if you want to be on the launch team. I would love more "advance" readers and supporters to help me launch it. Thank you to those who have already raised your hand.

πŸ‘‰ March is Women's History Month, so I featured these four amazing women on individual LinkedIn Posts: Lori Richardson, Sharon Kedar, Milena Erwin, and Gail Lowney Alofsin.

πŸ‘‰ Thank you to the University of Montana College of Business. I enjoyed working with their board of advisors in late March. Here is my post.

πŸ‘‰ I am excited to be helping a company accelerate its leads at events by using LinkedIn. This particular company is an exhibitor and our focus is leads and new connections. This consulting is part of my new LinkedIn Event Amplify program.

πŸ‘‰I was a podcast guest speaker on the "Scale Your Sales" podcast which is a wonderful program for sales leaders. Listen here.

πŸ‘‰Was happy to do a LinkedIn Sales Navigator training with a fast-growing company. Always exciting.

πŸ‘‰ Thank you to the students at the University of Rhode Island. Check out these two posts. First Post and a Student Post.

πŸ‘‰ We are starting on several new executive profiles and a new University client this month.

πŸ‘‰We ended February with Leap Day, Feb. 29 and I want to share this post with you because it impacted my content for all of March.

πŸ‘‰ This month I wrote 7 suprise LinkedIn Recommendations. Here is my post.
