Hello friends,

This is my monthly LinkedIn features newsletter. I like to keep you updated on all the LinkedIn changes.

Before we dive in, let's reflect. What a month we just had. There has been much excitement in the air. We saw the solar eclipse and it was spectacular. The special glasses were essential, don't you think?

Now we are back to normal waiting for the warmer weather.

And on the professional front, I hope you have been leveraging LinkedIn for your business or career. Shall we get started with some updates?

LinkedIn Updates – April 2024

For Companies:

πŸ‘‰ LinkedIn is testing a new premium experience for company pages. This will include a custom CTA button, custom testimonial, AI-powered post assistance, premium logo, and access to who visited the page. Better still, LinkedIn will auto-invite engaged members to follow your page. This option will roll out gradually.

πŸ‘‰ Page messaging is rolling out now to all pages. Just be aware so you don't miss a valuable message from a prospect or candidate.

πŸ‘‰ Companies can now leverage LinkedIn for influencer marketing. Pages can boost thought leadership posts from individuals. This is in addition to the options for the employee posts.

For Job Seekers

πŸ‘‰ Recruiters can now validate their LinkedIn profile, which is good for everyone. Glad to see this feature. Unfortunately, some scammers prey on job seekers with phony job opportunities. This will mostly be visible for those who work at larger companies and have purchased the Recruiter license.

For Creators:

πŸ‘‰ Our readers can now reply to our posts in Collaborative articles. These will be very interesting to read.

πŸ‘‰ Big news. The beta test for a video tab in the Mobile app is expanding. Yes, it's kinda like TikTok. Every video is in the vertical format. I am a beta user of this feature. The question is whether I will create videos. Here are my two posts about it. Post 1 Secret. Post 2 Video

πŸ‘‰ Now you can find Collaborative articles in the main post search section using the filters. This is good news.

πŸ‘‰ Newsletter subscription buttons are available for premium users. Also good news.

πŸ‘‰ We should all be interested in growing our following and audience. Use the follow link to create a button...... which is under the Creator Mode. Funny, this was supposed to be going away. When it does, then this feature will be moved somewhere. Here it is ⬇️

πŸ‘‰ Look for enhanced notification options. Under groups and pages, select to receive all posts, highlights, or no new posts. So what to do? Pick your most strategic groups and pages and make sure you are being notified about activity.

Interesting for all:

πŸ‘‰A passkey option was added to Setting & Privacy. Do you like this kind of secure login? If so, go to "Sign in & security", then select "Account Access", and then "Passkey."

πŸ‘‰ LinkedIn is testing a premium "takeaway" feature that displays their summary of your post. No, thank you. I do NOT like them doing this. I don't want LinkedIn to summarize my content with AI. Questions are OK ( and also coming) but not summaries.

πŸ‘‰ Freelancers. Look for a "Request Services" tab in the Services section of your profile. I keep waiting for this one.

πŸ‘‰ Look for expanded menu options under the share option. This includes Repost with thoughts; Repost; Send Message; or Copy Link. Which will you use? Remember to comment first.

πŸ‘‰There are several new settings that you might want to switch off especially if you don't want LinkedIn to use your profile data to populate ads for you. Check them all out under "Privacy and Settings" then go to "Advertising Data." Because of the recent changes I went in there and decided to turn them all to Off.

πŸ‘‰ Do you want Page owners (companies) to download your data? If not, go to this new setting and turn OFF. Go to "Privacy and Settings" then "Visibility" section and then "Page owners exporting your data." Here is what it looks like
